Marcelo is a Senior Associate Attorney with Chamberlain McHaney. His practice is focused on defending clients in a variety of disputes including transportation, personal injury, premises liability, construction defect, property damage, and commercial litigation matters throughout Texas. Marcelo approaches each case with an eye toward effectively evaluating potential exposure and works with his clients to provide creative solutions to challenging legal issues at all stages of the litigation process, with the goal of preparing each case for a favorable and efficient disposition or robust defense at trial.
Prior to joining Chamberlain McHaney, Marcelo worked at highly regarded regional and national civil litigation firms, where he gained valuable experience in first- and third-party insurance defense litigation, including pre-trial proceedings, pointed legal research and writing, strategic motion practice, effective depositions, settlement negotiations and mediation, and arbitration and trial preparation.
Marcelo earned his Juris Doctor from St. Mary’s University School of Law. While in law school, Marcelo was a judicial intern for the Fourth Court of Appeals of Texas. He also served on the St. Mary’s Law Journal as a Senior Associate Editor (Vol. 48) and Staff Writer (Vol. 47). Marcelo holds a Master of Science in Accounting and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting, both from the University of the Incarnate Word.
Marcelo is a native of San Antonio. Outside of work, Marcelo enjoys spending time with his young family and their German Sheperd, staying active outdoors, and cheering on the San Antonio Spurs.
