Republican challenger Dan Neil just issued a press release stating that he intends to file an election contest as to the HD 48 balloting, citing official mistakes in tallying the votes. Neil lost the election on recount by 12 votes. Democratic incumbent Donna Howard likewise just issued a press release alleging Neil is motivated by political ambition. The contest will be decided by the legislature where Republicans hold sizeable majorities in both chambers.
